An automatic gate eliminates the need to get out of your car in the rain, manually open a heavy gate, or worry about whether you remembered to close it. Modern electric gate systems offer remote control, smartphone integration, intercom access, and integration with home security systems.

Automation Options

  • Swing gate operators — hydraulic or electromechanical arms for hinged gates
  • Slide gate operators — chain or direct-drive motors for sliding gates
  • Solar-powered systems — ideal for remote locations without electrical access

Access Control Options

  • Remote controls and keypads
  • Smartphone app control (myQ and others)
  • Video intercoms with remote unlock
  • Keycard and proximity readers
  • Vehicle detection loops
  • Telephone entry systems for multi-tenant properties

Is Your Gate a Candidate for Automation?

Most existing manual gates can be automated, provided the gate is structurally sound, swings or slides freely, and is properly balanced on its hinges or rollers. We check all three before recommending an operator. A gate that binds or sags will wear out an operator quickly, so we correct those issues first.

Matching the Operator to the Gate

  • Swing gates: articulated-arm or linear-arm operators for most residential gates; underground hydraulic operators where the arm must be hidden
  • Slide and cantilever gates: chain-driven or direct-drive operators sized to the gate’s weight
  • Remote entries: solar-powered systems where running power is impractical
  • Duty cycle: residential operators for a home driveway; commercial-rated units for multi-tenant and business entrances

Access Control and Safety

Every automatic gate we install includes a manual release for power outages, and battery backup is available. Access options range from remotes and keypads to smartphone control, video intercoms with remote unlock, and vehicle detection loops that open the gate for exiting cars. Safety sensors stop the gate if something is in its path.

Quote and Timing

Cost depends on the operator, the access control you choose and any corrections the existing gate needs. Every job is quoted in full before work begins, and we’ll give you a time estimate when you schedule.

Transparent Pricing

We provide upfront pricing before any work begins. No surprises, no hidden fees.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I add automation to my existing manual gate?
In most cases, yes. We can retrofit an electric operator to your existing gate, provided the gate is structurally sound and properly balanced.
What happens during a power outage?
All automatic gates include a manual release mechanism so you can open the gate by hand during outages. Battery backup systems are also available.
