Choosing the Right Opener

• Horsepower to match the door: 1/2 HP for a standard single door, 3/4 HP for a double, 1 HP or more for heavy or oversized doors
• Drive type: belt drive for the quietest operation (best under living space), chain drive for value and durability, wall-mount (jackshaft) when ceiling space is limited
• Smart features: Wi-Fi openers let you check whether the door is closed and open it from your phone
• Battery backup: keeps the door working through a power outage

What Happens on Installation Day

A typical opener installation takes 2–3 hours. We mount and wire the unit, install and align the safety sensors, mount the wall control, program up to two remotes and the keypad, set up the smartphone app on smart models, set the force and travel limits, and run a full safety reversal test before we leave. The old opener is removed and disposed of.

We install LiftMaster, Genie and Marantec, with LiftMaster as our recommended brand. Every job is quoted before work begins; the opener carries its manufacturer warranty and our labor is covered for 1 year.
