When a Custom Door Makes Sense
- The opening is non-standard — unusually wide, tall or arched — and stock sizes would leave gaps or require framing changes
- The home has a specific architectural style that catalog doors don’t match
- You want a particular wood species, stain, glass layout or hardware set
- An HOA or architectural review board has approved a specific look
How the Process Works
- In-home consultation. We measure the opening, look at the home’s lines and materials, and talk through what you want the door to do.
- Design and quote. We work with specialty manufacturers, including Clopay’s AVANTE series and custom wood lines, to spec the door and provide a detailed written quote.
- Order and build. Custom doors typically take 4–8 weeks from order to installation, depending on complexity and manufacturer lead times.
- Installation. New tracks, springs rated to the door’s weight, and an opener matched to it, followed by balance and safety testing.
